Hop across the border with us for another edition of Funk Ekspres in collaboration with Eight Lido. Expect a mix of funk, soul, disco and house from KFC, Zushan and Shellsuit.

– Phone maps: search for “Eight Lido” or “Eight Lido Johor”

Driving Directions:

Via Woodlands:
Woodlands Checkpoint > JB CIQ > keep right as you exit the CIQ (do not take the lane with the green marked sign, that brings you to the KL highway) > you are now parallel with the flyover on your right > Merge with the main lanes (its called the Inner Ring Road), move to the RIGHT MOST LANE (you’ll see a Shell Station on your left) > continue straight down this road, dont turn left or right > you will see Thistle Hotel (big grey building) on your right as the road elevates to an overhead flyover, continue going straight > road will loop right and merge with the Coastal Highway (big green field and clock tower on right, Singapore on left) > continue straight down this coastal road until you see an overhead pedestrian bridge and M-Suites Hotel on right > at this point move into the RIGHT MOST LANE and make a U-TURN at the next set of lights (about 200m ahead) > When you pass M-suites on left, move into the LEFT MOST LANE and TURN LEFT immediately AFTER the overhead pedestrian bridge.

Via Tuas:
Tuas Checkpoint > Cross Bridge > Malaysian Checkpoint > Toll Plaza (need Touch & Go (Cashcard) card which you can purchase at the left booth at the toll plaza if you dont have one) > Continue down the Second Link Highway > take the EXIT NO 312 that says “Nusajaya / Legoland” > Road loops left > 12 o’clock at the roundabout > keep right (Signs should say “Pusat Bandaraya/ Danga Bay/ Teluk Danga”) > you are now on the Coastal Highway > continue straight down this Coastal Highway (you’ll pass Horizon Hills on left, and about 3 exits) > when it appears that there swamp groves on your left and right then you know you’re in the right direction > Road starts to elevate into a small bridge over the river then back to ground level > you’ll see apartments on your left, some commercial buildings on your right (Tune hotel) > stay in the middle lane at this point > as you drive under a giant flyover, keep left and follow the signs that say “Hospital Sultanah Aminah / Teluk Danga” > Turn LEFT at the exit, road will loop upwards and left and merge with main traffic on right > Move into the middle lane > You’ll pass the Palace grounds on left (Istana Bukit Serene), 4 storey commercial buildings and Danga Bay on right > Continue going straight another 1.5km, you’ll see the M-suites Hotel on your left > stay in the LEFT MOST LANE and TURN LEFT immediately AFTER the overhead pedestrian bridge / bus stop.
